For more than 40 years, communities across the U.S. have celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July, recognizing the role parks and recreation play in building strong, vibrant and resilient communities.
At Energy Transfer, we share that commitment by helping protect and enhance green spaces in the communities where we live and work. Each year, we invest funding and volunteer hours to improve parks and outdoor spaces in the communities we serve. From Texas to Pennsylvania, we partner with nonprofit organizations and local communities to create healthier, greener places for people to live, learn and gather. In honor of Park and Recreation Month, we’re highlighting just a few of those efforts.
Texas
For the past three years, Energy Transfer has sponsored Texas Trees Foundation’s “Branching Out” program, which aims to create healthier communities by planting trees at Dallas parks and schools. Through our $300,000 invested to date and countless volunteer hours from Energy Transfer employees, we’ve helped advance the organization’s local urban forestry and community greening efforts.

This year’s efforts include a tree-planting project at the After8toEducate campus in East Dallas. Energy Transfer employees planted 32 trees, laying the foundation for a greener, more inviting space that will grow alongside the students and community it serves. Volunteers also established 14 pollinator and food-forest garden beds, creating additional opportunities for hands-on learning and a connection to nature.
Our employee volunteers also participated in three tree-planting events with Texas Trees Foundation in Dallas neighborhoods in need of expanded tree canopy. Those efforts resulted in 170 trees being planted across Kingsbridge Park, F.P. Caillet Elementary School and Anderson Bonner Park.
These projects build on previous plantings with Texas Trees Foundation at Dallas’ White Rock Lake, Glendale Park and Ben Milam Elementary School.
Beyond Dallas, Energy Transfer also donated $30,000 to Trees for Houston, where employee volunteers helped plant 80 trees at Chinquapin Preparatory School, further expanding access to healthy green spaces and environmental education.

Louisiana
In Louisiana, Energy Transfer partnered with Tandem Global to plant 175 native fruit trees at J.S. Clark Elementary School in Shreveport. The project helps reduce flooding, improve food access, protect the environment and create a vibrant outdoor learning space where students can connect with nature.

Pennsylvania
Energy Transfer contributed more than $300,000 toward construction of an inclusive playground in Delaware County designed for children of all abilities, including those with autism and other disabilities.

In addition, Energy Transfer donated $100,000 toward the revitalization of Kingsman Park in Upper Chichester Township. The project revitalized an important community gathering space by making it more accessible, inclusive and welcoming for residents and visitors. Energy Transfer’s donation helped facilitate a diverse range of improvements, including installation of inclusive play equipment atop a rubber play surface and an ADA-compliant concrete walkway.
Parks and green spaces strengthen communities by creating places where people can gather, play, learn and connect with nature. Through partnerships with nonprofit organizations and the dedication of our employees, Energy Transfer remains committed to creating healthier, more vibrant communities by preserving and enhancing the parks and green spaces people enjoy every day.
